The Conture brand required a line of skin care devices that were visually clean and minimal, yet capable of housing complex internal components within a sleek, streamlined form.

The project focused on two distinct products, each with unique human factor variables:
‣ The Kinetic Smooth (a hair removal and skin polishing device requiring sensitivity to different skin types)
‣ The AeroCleanse (a sonic facial cleansing brush requiring an ergonomic, completely waterproof design for shower use).

The ultimate goal was to deliver a professional, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing med-spa experience for at-home consumer routines.

The brand had already established modularity as a core brand staple, so the most effective path forward was to refine the existing foundation rather than reinvent it. By referencing clean tech aesthetics and drawing inspiration from both medical tools and modern beauty packaging, the team recognized that the product's physical details could serve as functional anchors. The signature brand wave, for instance, could transcend aesthetics to become an essential grip feature for safe, waterproof usage.

The team moved rapidly from abstract early concepts straight into 3D modeling, allowing for the immediate creation of tangible, testable forms.

Through highly collaborative, in-house rapid prototyping, 3D prints became the primary medium for dialogue with the engineering team. Numerous rounds of feedback were implemented to test the mechanical fit and alignment of the modular interchangeable heads against the main device body.
The iteration process heavily focused on the case's indentations and curves. It was a mechanical necessity that these curves were not just decorative, but provided a secure and proper grip for the user, especially in wet environments.
The successful launch of two innovative devices was accompanied by a delivery of high-fidelity product renders, instructional diagrams, and how-to explainer videos.
The 3D models were repurposed for in-house animation and rendering to create how-to videos that perfectly fit Conture's visual system, utilizing branded graphics, titles, and clear transitions. The modular physical design maintained visual consistency across all attachments, establishing a premium feel.
The physical prototypes made design decisions visible and strengthened the overall visual system. The final products successfully merged a sleek, minimalist brand identity with complex functionality, proving that the brand's signature aesthetic also enhanced the proper grip and usability of the devices.
